Nature Encounters May
Spring is here…! Join us each and every Saturday at the Trailside Nature Center for a variety of nature themed programming. All free – and FUN! All programs either meet, or take place at the Trailside Nature Center. All programs are from 1-2 pm and meet at Trailside Nature Center unless stated otherwise.
Programming starts promptly at 1:00 pm.
May 4th – Tour Trailside *150th Celebration Event*
In honor of the 150th anniversary of Burnet Woods come tour Trailside Nature Center formally known as Trailside Museum. We will have the building open, historical photos on display and be available to answer questions about this historic site!
May 11th – International Migratory Bird Day
Designated as an Audubon Important Bird Area in the early 2000’s, Burnet Woods has been an important way station for migrating birds for untold years. Join us at the Trailside Nature Center for a fun and informative program on our favorite feathered friends.
May 18th – Kids to Parks Day / * Noon – 3:00pm
Come celebrate Kids to Parks Day in Burnet Woods! The Camping and Education Foundation will be providing canoeing on the lake. Hit the woods for a self-guided nature scavenger hunt to celebrate Burnet Woods 150th Anniversary – and be sure to check out Trailside for an in-depth look at the local wildlife that calls Burnet Woods home.
May 25th – Story Time + Meet a Turtle
Bring your wild ones to Trailside for story time at the nature center! We’ll gather in the Nature Library for a story about turtles followed by a meet and greet with our own Eastern Box Turtle. A fascinating look at one of our most accessible wild animals!
