New Trail Segment on City's West Side Breaks Ground

Aug 14, 2017

The City of Cincinnati has broken ground on a new trail segment on the west side of the city. The existing trail at the Dunham Recreation Center is being extended half a mile west to Glenhills Way. The extension will connect the Dunham Recreation Center, Dater High School, Western Hills University High School, several residential neighborhoods, grocery stores, shopping centers, and a sports mall.

Construction is expected to be complete by the end of this year. Initial work will include clearing of vegetation, construction of a retaining wall, and excavation/embankment work followed by construction of the asphalt trail. The project was previously awarded a Federal Transportation Alternatives grant in the amount of $500,000.
