COVID-19 Memorial Day Ceremony

CINCINNATICity leaders gathered at the College Hill Recreation Center today to honor the lives lost to COVID-19. Globally, there have been more than 2,400,000 deaths; and in Ohio, more than 16,000 people perished. At the memorial, a flag was planted for every Cincinnati life lost to the virus - 220.

Cincinnati officials during this day also recognized the dedication of public servants who have kept the city running during the pandemic including employees of the Cincinnati Health Department, Cincinnati Recreation Commission, Cincinnati Public Services, and the Cincinnati Fire Department.

The first Monday in March has been designated as COVID-19 Victims and Survivors Memorial Day following a resolution unanimously passed by Council.
