The Department of Economic Inclusion would like to congratulate our March 2023 Business Enterprise of the Month, Jostin Construction.
Albert C. Smitherman founded Jostin Construction in 1998 to create opportunities for others in an industry he loves. He continues to lead the way forward every day and has created a company where it is safe to discuss, debate, and learn. They have seasoned industry veterans, interns still learning the ropes, and a leadership team that includes women who started at Jostin with minimal construction experience (which is unique in their industry). As a result, Jostin Construction is stronger for the varied perspectives that come together to drive growth for individuals, the company, and the community.
They had the following to say in accepting the award, “Being a certified MBE with the City of Cincinnati has allowed Jostin Construction to help the City meet its participation goals with a workforce that reflects the communities that we all work and live in. In doing so, we continue to serve our community, improve opportunities for others and stay true to our values. On behalf of the entire Jostin Construction family, we are honored to be the Department of Economic Inclusions March 2023 DEI Business Enterprise of the Month! We work hard every day to create and provide a diversity of opportunity for all through our community engagement, workforce development, and ambitious business line growth goals!
