The Department of Economic Inclusion would like to congratulate our January 2023 Business Enterprise of the Month, Hightowers Petroleum Co.
Stephen “Steve” Hightower founded Hightowers Petroleum Co. in 1982, continuing a family legacy of entrepreneurism that began in 1957 with the establishment of the family’s cornerstone business. Steve Hightower has performed as a Certified Minority Supplier in the City of Cincinnati for over 40 years and has also championed the needs of other MBEs by starting an advocacy group called "SOS" (Save Our Set Aside).
Mr. Hightower had the following to say about the instrumental role of MBE certification in his success, "Starting in construction in 1979 to the present, certification assisted in the development of our company. While our Petroleum Co. provides fuel to the City of Cincinnati, our relationship continues to grow as the City grows. We are pleased and honored to be a vendor to the City and look forward to growth in the future.”
