SR Type: Vehicle, Abandoned in Street (Overtime Parking)
Service Request Type:
- Vehicle, Abandoned in Street
Used when:
- A vehicle has been abandoned in the right-of-way, and is considered one of the following:
- An "Overtime-parked vehicle": The vehicle has been parked on the street for more than 24 hours, in violation of Cincinnati Municipal Code 508-12, Parking Unreasonable Time.
- A "nuisance junk motor vehicle" in violation of Cincinnati Municipal Code, Chapter 758.
- An "abandoned junk motor vehicle" in violation of Ohio Revised Code 4513.64.
Routes to:
- Cincinnati Police Department, District-Level Neighborhood Liaison Unit (NLU)
More Information:
- Each police district has an NLU that handles this and other neighborhood concerns.
- Depending on the violation, this is a multi-step process that is not resolved on the same day it is reported.
- Typically, an NLU police officer will investigate on a future business day and must leave a notice for the vehicle owner. Time must then be given to see if the vehicle is moved. On a return visit by the officer, if the vehicle has not moved, it is towed. Once this process is complete, the officer will close the 311 Service Request.
- Internally, this process is defined by CPD Procedure 12.275.
