Garbage Collection
The City of Cincinnati's Garbage Collection Service is managed by the Department of Public Services (DPS). A few things to know:
- DPS provides weekly garbage collection services for residences that meet the definition of a "dwelling" as defined in CMC 729-1-D1.
- Garbage must be placed in a city-approved cart that is compatible with DPS lifting equipment.
- You can learn what you can and can't have collected on the DPS website.
Through 311, you can:
- Register your privately-owned trash cart
- Request repair of a city-issued trash cart
- Report a missed garbage collection
- Report an overflowing corner can
- Report trash cans left out, or set out too early
Process:
- Garbage-related 311 requests are routed to DPS.
- Check your text messages and email for process-related information and status updates.
