Reds Rookie Success League
The Reds Rookie Success League (RRSL) is a coed, character-building, introductory baseball program for kids 7-10 year-olds. RRSL stresses valuable life lessons while utilizing the game of baseball as the delivery vehicle.
The program meets twice a week for four weeks, beginning in June. On Wednesdays and Thursdays, transportation will be provided from participating Cincinnati Recreation Commission locations.
Reds Rookie Success League debuted in July 2003 and adheres to the mission of the Reds Community Fund, providing inner-city children with an opportunity to play baseball in a safe and fun environment.
During every practice and game, the staff of trained coaches and volunteers emphasizes the “CI REDS” acronym: Cooperation, Integrity, Respect, Education, Determination and Spirit. Character-building exercises, coupled with baseball drills, reinforce the character trait of the week.
Each child also receives a uniform shirt and hat, food, beverages and all necessary equipment. Medical personnel from TriHealth will be on hand to oversee the physical well being of the children and volunteers.
