Last week, GCWW was proud to host 20 delegates from various countries as part of the Metering International Academy’s Automatic Meter Reading Technical Study Tour of the USA. The delegates represented countries including Kuwait, Malawi, Nigeria, Palau, India, Sweden, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Uganda, Russia, and the UK. They visited GCWW to learn more about our H2O Radio Project.
During their visit, the delegates learned about key elements for a successful project, including pre-planning, detailed statements of work, quality assurance systems, performance measures and communications. They also learned that while there are many elements of a successful project, our projects’ most important element is the Customer. The H2O Radio Project will improve customer service to all GCWW customers through convenient, accurate and timely meter reading and billing The delegates discussed the project with staff from the Commercial Division, participated in a ride along to see how newly installed meters are read, and observed the installation process with VSI Meter Services contractors.
The Metering International Academy designed this tour to provide their members an opportunity to learn more about automatic meter reading strategies, trends, and technologies for gas, electric and water utility management. Other US stops for the tour included Philadelphia, Las Vegas, and culminated in San Diego for the Metering International Conference.
GCWW is proud to have had another opportunity to serve as an international model!
