NO I.D. - NO ENTRY
Customers have contacted Greater Cincinnati Water Works (GCWW) this week about individuals impersonating utility workers and attempting to gain entrance to the customers' homes. The impersonators, wearing blue uniforms, have told customers that they need to read a meter or check the water heater.
Greater Cincinnati Water Works wants to caution all customers about letting strangers in to their homes. Do not let anyone into your home without a photo identification card. GCWW employees who routinely go into customers' homes will have a photo I.D. card and always wear a blue uniform with a Greater Cincinnati Water Works patch sewn on it. GCWW employees generally drive white vehicles marked with the City of Cincinnati seal, a vehicle number and the words "Water Works."
If you have any concerns, do not let the person into your home. To verify if the person at your home is a Water Works employee, call the 24-hour number at 591-7700. If you feel you may be in danger, call Police immediately at 911. GCWW is concerned about customer safety and asks all customers to remember, NO I.D. - NO ENTRY.
