Streetcar Progress Update: June 9. 2014

As of this morning, construction is wrapping up on trackwork at Central Parkway & Walnut Street.

Eastbound Central Parkway is scheduled to reopen no later than 7 a.m. today.

Westbound 12th Street will be closed 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays between Race and Elm streets, and between Walnut and Vine streets for trackwork.

In the CBD, you'll see lots of utility work on Walnut and Main streets.

Coming to a Reds game? Expect water main construction on Walnut Street between 3rd and 4th streets each night, starting at 8pm. Traffic will be reduced to 1 lane in this area.

Construction Coming Soon

Court Street, from Walnut to Main, will be closed in both directions on Saturday, June 14. This closure will be in place from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. so crews can replace pavers just to the east of the intersection.

Vine Street will be closed at 12th Street next week (Monday, June 16 to Thursday, June 19). Crews will work 10- to 12-hours a day to install track across the intersection. A detour map will be available later this week.

Media interviews Deatrick

Streetcar Project Executive John Deatrick met with media outlets to explain construction happening over the weekend at Walnut & Central Parkway.

Rodbusters work overnight

Eastbound Central closed promptly at 6pm. With the trench already dug, rodbusters worked overnight to prepare the rebar framework...

Working on curved rail

...and by noon Friday, curved rails were already in place.

Concrete in place to cure

On Saturday, concrete was in place. This gave it time to cure and strengthen before the road reopens today.
