CRC’s National Tennis & Learning Program is USTA Chapter of the Year
CRC NJTL Coordinator Receives Howard Dredge Award
Congratulations to the Cincinnati Recreation Commission National Junior Tennis & Learning program (NJTL) which was selected as the USTA/Midwest Section 2013 NJTL Chapter of the Year.
This 8-week summer program is for children 7-14 years old. It reaches those who may not otherwise have the opportunity to learn the game of tennis, have use of equipment, instruction and match play. More than 500 children participated in 2013.
Tennis for Charity, the charitable arm of the Western & Southern Open tennis tournament in Mason, has made a donation to run this program for the past 22 years.
The program’s success is due to its dedicated coaches as well as the organization of Cincinnati Recreation Commission’s NJTL Coordinator, Dianne Schirmann, who was awarded the Howard Dredge Award. This award, presented by the Ohio Valley Tennis Association, is given to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to Junior Tennis Development. Dianne has been CRC’s NJTL coordinator since 2007 and has enjoyed a love of tennis for 40 years.
Way to go!
