Out of Tragedy Comes CRC’s “I CAN SWIM!” Project and Scholarship Program

Out of a 2011 tragedy, CRC’s “I CAN SWIM!” project and scholarship program was born.

It was a beautiful day two years ago, and 10 year old Cameron Jeff, and his brother Bryce (age 8) went to play near a neighbor’s backyard pool. Unfortunately, they did not know how to swim and did not surface after going under the water.

Remembering Mr. Fultz

Roscoe Fultz was an integral part of the Cincinnati Recreation Commission for many years. He passed away on April 15, 2012. His family and friends honored his memory yesterday with the installation of his memorial stone at the Roscoe Fultz Memorial Picnic Area next to the Reeves Golf Course Annex at Lunken Playfield.

CRC Pools Open on Sundays

Thanks to a generous donation made by Crossroads, some CRC pools will be open for swimming on Sundays when they would normally be closed. The following neighborhood pools will be open noon to 6:30 p.m. on summer Sundays from June 9 - August 11.

CRC Still Needs Lifeguards

In order to open all pools for the summer, CRC needs to hire additional lifeguards. CRC hires more than 225 lifeguards for the summer season

Cincinnati Recreation Commission, the Cincinnati Art Museum and Happen, Inc. will work together to install reproductions of artwork from the Cincinnati Art Museum at CRC facilities throughout the city.
