The National Alliance for Youth Sports recently recognized CRC for its outstanding dedication to youth sports coach training. The CRC sports leagues trained more than 500 coaches during NAYS’ 2013-14 fiscal year. That means more than 500 volunteer coaches were properly trained and qualified to be mentors to CRC children.

- Therapeutic Recreation Announces Its Fall Programs
As advocates for individuals with disabilities, CRC’s TR Division provides inclusive recreation programming choices and promotes accessibility at all CRC facilities.
CRC is nationally known for its programming for individuals with disabilities. Their services promote healthy lifestyles and provide opportunities to participate in high-quality recreational and cultural experiences in the community.

On Friday July 25, 48 teens paddled their way to Downtown Cincinnati’s Public Landing after a week-long 75+ mile journey along the Little Miami River. They were met by a crowd of family members, friends and well-wishers.

CRC Aquatics recently held two competitions which allowed participants to show off their skills – CRC’s Guard Start Competition and the Citywide Swim Team Finals.

- CRC Receives Grant for Adapted Aquatics
Cincinnati Recreation Commission-Therapeutic Recreation Adapted Aquatics are the proud recipients of the Autism Speaks Scholarship Fund for Swimming and Water Safety. Autism Speaks created this grant program to offer scholarships for swimming and water safety lessons for people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Cincinnati Recreation Commission's Hirsch Recreation Center presents "Back in the Day" – a story about one family's struggle to survive in 1964.
Opening night is Friday, July 25. Other performances include July 29-August 1, and August 4 – 7. All performances are at 2:00 p.m. and are FREE.

Join us to support CRC youth as they begin CRC’s Summer Track program with a meet at Taft High School’s Stargell Stadium, Tuesday, July 8 at 10:00 a.m.
Runners in this competitive intramural recreation center league range in age from 8-12 and will be competing in three to four events.

- Councilmember Simpson to Learn to Swim with the Cincinnati Recreation Commission
During the month of July, Simpson will learn to swim in CRC swim lessons at Lincoln Pool.
On Wednesday, July 2nd, Councilmember Yvette Simpson and representatives from the Cincinnati Recreation Commission discussed the importance of learning to swim, and encouraged anyone who cannot swim to enroll in CRC’s “I Can Swim!” Project & Scholarship Program.
