CRC, Children’s Hunger Alliance to Offer Hot Meal Pilot Program in Recreation Centers

Cincinnati Recreation Commission and the Children’s Hunger Alliance are partnering to offer youth and teens hot meals in some of Cincinnati’s most challenging neighborhoods. The free Hot Meal Pilot Program is now available in five neighborhood recreation centers: Hirsch, Bush, Millvale, Winton Hills and Evanston Recreation Centers.

Alex B. Folson to be CRC Youth Commissioner

Cincinnati Recreation Commission welcomes Alex B. Folson as the new Youth Commissioner. Mr. Folson applied for the volunteer position and was selected by the CRC Board of Commissioners. Alex is a senior at Hughes STEM High School.

CRC Personnel Changes

Cincinnati Recreation Commission thanks Chris Bigham for his three years as Recreation Director and welcomes Steve Pacella as the new Interim Director. Steve joined Recreation in 2008 as Superintendent. Steve Gerth is now serving as Interim Superintendent of Recreation.

Congratulations, Seniors!

Cincinnati Recreation Commission hosted its annual Senior Citizen Hall of Fame to recognize the achievements of outstanding seniors on Friday, October 24 at the Hyatt Regency in Downtown Cincinnati. Twenty-two seniors were inducted from throughout the city.

Senior Hall of Fame Recognition Banquet

Cincinnati Recreation Commission will host its annual Senior Citizen Hall of Fame to recognize the achievements of outstanding seniors. The ceremony will take place Friday, October 24 at 11:30 a.m. at the Hyatt Regency in Downtown Cincinnati and will highlight 21 inductees from throughout the city.

Due to an overnight break-in and extensive vandalism, the Evanston Recreation Center,3204 Woodburn Ave., will be closed for the remainder of today, Friday, October 10, 2014 and through the weekend. We hope to resume regular programming on Monday, October 13.
