Happy 100th Anniversary Avon Fields!

CRC Golf Course Avon Fields celebrated its 100th anniversary on Friday with festivities at the course. The day began with a ceremonial putt at noon, followed by an 18-hole, shotgun scramble. Guests enjoyed tee gifts, on-course contests, cookout lunch and pig-roast dinner. Fun was had by all!

CRC celebrates Senior Citizens

Do you know a senior citizen who has worked tirelessly for his/her organization? The Senior Citizen Hall of Fame was created to recognize the contributions and achievements of the community’s senior citizens. This year’s 47th annual Hall of Fame will be held Friday, October 24, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency Cincinnati. Nominations are now being accepted. Until 5 pm October 1. Reservation deadline for tickets is Wednesday, October 15.

The National Alliance for Youth Sports recently recognized CRC for its outstanding dedication to youth sports coach training. The CRC sports leagues trained more than 500 coaches during NAYS’ 2013-14 fiscal year. That means more than 500 volunteer coaches were properly trained and qualified to be mentors to CRC children.

Therapeutic Recreation Announces Its Fall Programs

As advocates for individuals with disabilities, CRC’s TR Division provides inclusive recreation programming choices and promotes accessibility at all CRC facilities.

CRC is nationally known for its programming for individuals with disabilities. Their services promote healthy lifestyles and provide opportunities to participate in high-quality recreational and cultural experiences in the community.

Congratulations RiverTrekkers!

On Friday July 25, 48 teens paddled their way to Downtown Cincinnati’s Public Landing after a week-long 75+ mile journey along the Little Miami River. They were met by a crowd of family members, friends and well-wishers.

CRC Receives Grant for Adapted Aquatics

Cincinnati Recreation Commission-Therapeutic Recreation Adapted Aquatics are the proud recipients of the Autism Speaks Scholarship Fund for Swimming and Water Safety. Autism Speaks created this grant program to offer scholarships for swimming and water safety lessons for people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
