Cincinnati's Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) interconnects more than 80 of the City's major facilities. The MAN supports a wide range of Citywide and department-specific applications. RCC CINSY staff operates and maintains MAN resources for all City departments including the backbone network plus a number of network applications and central data resources shared across numerous agencies and departments.
Client Connectivity - City Hall/Centennial Plaza/Remote Locations:
CINSY staff provides ongoing support for all the network connections in Centennial Plaza, City Hall, and "remote" locations outside the City Hall/Centennial/RCC complex. That includes coordinating all changes/adds/moves, troubleshooting first level problems, making sure there are adequate connections for all users, that the connections work as designed, and that there is adequate port coverage.
ADSL Network Support:
The ADSL network provides connectivity to smaller remote sites on the MAN that have unique configuration requirements. RCC staff manages all aspects of these connections including "Corporate Button", client interface, transmission, and maintenance of user names and Ids.
Enterprise DHCP Server Support:
CINSY staff supports redundant DHCP servers that serve City Hall and other select locations on the MAN. These servers provide extensive IP addressing and configuration information for local PC's in the DHCP locations.
Virtual Private Networking Support (Citrix Secure Gateway):
CINSY staff provides primary client support for the Virtual Private Network (VPN) allowing secure remote access for business partners and City employees. Network Services provides management of firewalls, concentrators, and RADIUS. CINSY provides management of the smart tokens and related ACE server, and the primary Citrix environment that supports the VPN network.
Management and Support the City Hall Data Center:
CINSY staff manages access to the Data Center and provides support for all enterprise hardware and software in the Data Center including automated monitoring.
