Weather  Forecast

The National Weather Service is calling for: 

  • Tonight...Freezing rain with a chance of snow in the evening... Then freezing rain after midnight. Little or no snow accumulation. A trace of ice accumulation. Lows in the upper 20s. East winds 5 to 10 mph...becoming north after midnight. Chance of precipitation 100 percent.

  • Saturday...Mostly cloudy with a chance of freezing rain and snow in the morning...then partly cloudy in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 30s. Northeast winds around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation 50 percent.

Operational Status

City crews prepared today for forecasted icy conditions by pretreating roadways with brine and with granular salt. Approximately 65 crews are scheduled for overnight operations to fight developing icy conditions and keep City roads as drivable as possible.

How Citizens Can Help

As precipitation begins to fall, drivers should stay alert for developing icy conditions. It would also be prudent to check local weather and road conditions before deciding to head out on the road tonight or early tomorrow.
