The City of Cincinnati welcomes Andrew B. Glenn, Jr., as the new Director of the Department of Public Services. He comes from the City of Richmond, Virginia, where he has served as the Deputy Director of Operations for the past five years. In this position, Glenn managed over 400 employees with a budget of $32 million, and oversaw waste management, roadway maintenance, street cleaning, urban forestry, grounds management, and storm water management. Prior to that, Glenn was the Assistant Director General Services/Assistant Budget Director for the Roanoke County Department of General Services for over eight years. There he assisted in the fiscal and operational management of facilities, solid waste, property management, fleet, and communications for the department. He served as Project Manager for removing debris following Hurricane Isabel and has additional training in emergency management. He has a degree in accounting from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University, and served in the U.S. Army, where he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal. Glenn, who will begin on April 29, serves on the Board of Directors of the Central Virginia Waste Management Authority.
