The August 7 National Night Out event at Armleder Park will include free food and drinks for all. Children will especially like the police dogs, horses, bicycles, and motorcycles. There are also plans for a Cincinnati Fire Department truck and smoke house, where children can practice escaping from a simulated smoke filled building.
The park will teem with police cars, SWAT van, command vehicles and other police equipment. There will be crime and safety prevention demonstrations and displays, so you can see how the police work each day to keep our neighborhoods safe. The Greater Cincinnati Police Museum will provide a special display of its collection, which includes photographs, uniforms, call boxes, 3-wheel motorcycle, badges, handcuffs and guns dating back to the 19th Century.
District 2 Police hope all the residents in the District communities join them on August 7. They see this as an opportunity for the citizens and police to get to know each other better. This year’s event has been designed with special activities for children and teens. And as always, there will be plenty of pizza, hot dogs and hamburgers.
