PLANNING SECTION, commanded by a captain, is responsible for planning, research, and the development of programs that maximize the effective use of Department personnel and resources. Planning Section is responsible for long-range planning, developing forms and procedures, conducting legal research and tracking civil litigation involving the Department and its members. This section serves as the Department’s liaison with the City Solicitor’s Office.
