Preregistration required for free four-hour program to be held September 26 and 27.
A free four-hour program of preparedness training for school employees will be offered by the Cincinnati Police Department’s Training Unit and SWAT & Tactical Coordination Unit Thursday September 26 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Friday September 27 from 8:00 a.m. to noon at the Police Academy, 800 Evans Street. The course is designed to provide school employees with basic information and necessary skills to understand, prepare for and report incidents of school violence, whether perceived, planned or actually carried out. Topics covered will be the ALICE Training Program; active shooter; personal safety; observations and perceptions; and the CPD SWAT team response. There are no prerequisites needed to attend.
Because space is limited, preregistration is required and must be received by Monday September 23. Those interested in attending should contact Sergeant Ronald Hale of the CPD Training Unit by email at email@example.com or by phone at 513-357-7555.
