Most of the 360 participants, who must be Cincinnati residents, will work in a variety of entry-level jobs at community-based organizations and government agencies. The Summer Youth Employment Program will introduce youth to the workplace, will impart valuable employment skills, and will provide youth with a summer income. The Department of Community Development & Planning will oversee the contract.

The jobs will be for Cincinnati residents and youth will work for 15 hours per week.
The Community Action Agency will augment the program with services the agency offers such as life skills training. The Summer Youth Employment Program will run between June 11 and August 3, 2007.
A new part of the City’s Summer Youth Employment program is a partnership wit.h Cincinnati State who will be operating a pilot program called the Entrepreneurial Summer Program for 25 of the 360 youth. This program teaches high school students the fundamentals of the free enterprise system.
