Two-Wheeler Parking Program

In an effort to accommodate the increasing demand for convenient parking for two-wheelers in the urban core, the City introduced a Downtown pilot program for two-wheeler parking in October 2008. The pilot program is based on the results of a month-long public participation process that identified five convenient on-street parking locations. Each location can accommodate 2-4 vehicles. Given the ridership during winter months, the program will begin with free parking.

Two-wheelers include motorcycles, motor scooters and mopeds. Due to rising gas prices and environmental concerns, these fuel-efficient vehicles have become increasingly popular throughout the United States and in major metropolitan cities, including Cincinnati. In addition to being more fuel efficient than automobiles, two-wheelers cause less damage to our roads, and require less space for parking.

The following ‘two-wheeler only’ parking spots can be identified by the adjacent green parking signs.

  • Sycamore Street between 4th Street and 5th Street (3 vehicles)
  • Walnut Street between 6th Street and 5th Street (2 vehicles)
  • Broadway Street between 6th and New Street (3 vehicles)
  • 8th Street at Vine Street (4 vehicles)
  • 7th Street at Sycamore (3 vehicles)

Reduced rate spots are also available in the 3rd/Butler Street lot.

Other neighborhoods may be considered for pilot projects. If you have thoughts on where you’d like to see two-wheeler parking outside of Downtown, please e-mail us at twowheeler@cincinnati-oh.gov.
