Give us input on a proposed improvement
West MLK Drive Access Improvement
In an effort to serve the safety needs and quality of life for our Cincinnati communities, the City has begun the West MLK Drive Access Improvement project.
This street project will begin at the W. McMicken Avenue/ MLK intersection and continue east along Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to the Clifton Avenue/MLK intersection.
The City has received numerous complaints concerning safety and congestion issues along this roadway. Also, there are a high number of accidents with parked cars and sideswipe accidents along West MLK Drive. City staff is also concerned with the problems pedestrians are facing with trying to maneuver the Clifton Avenue/W. MLK Drive intersection.
Additionally, the City has evaluated this area and is planning the project to:
- Coordinate with the Ohio Department of Transportation for their work on I-75/ Milcreek Expwy
- Reduce the high accident issues on West MLK between W. McMicken Ave. and Dixmyth Ave.
- Address congestion and vehicle capacity issues at W. MLK and Dixmyth Ave.
- Reduce high accident and pedestrian traffic issues at West MLK Jr. Drive and Clifton Ave.
- Accommodate accessibility of other transportation modes throughout the corridor

With the above mentioned issues and the community concerns recieved, the city created project goals in order to begin design alternatives.
