Harrison Avenue Improvement Project
Fairmont Avenue
Issue: This section contains two sharp curves and is on a steep grade. The accident rate in this section of Harrison Avenue is about 33 accidents per million vehicle miles. That is over four times the City average. There has also been one fatality and numerous injuries since 2004.

Improve curves and realign Fairmount Avenue. This would smooth
out the curves and slightly bank the roadway to conform to current design
standards. Includes a new traffic signal at the intersection of Fairmount Avenue
and Harrison Avenue. This would require taking property on the west side of
Harrison Avenue.
