CITY OF CINCINNATI
SEARCHABLE EXPENDITURE DATABASE
Welcome to the City of Cincinnati’s searchable expenditure database. The information included in this database is taken from the Cincinnati Financial System (CFS) and summarizes all expenditures greater than $2,000 listed by fund, department, expense description and vendor. The website includes all expenditures for the prior year and year to date through the previous month. Current monthly data will be posted by the end of the following month. For example, October data will be posted by November 30th.
This information is taken directly from the financial system. Due to the size of our city, there are thousands of transactions. It is recommended to use the filter feature and choose a fund, department or an expense description to narrow the search. Not all funds, departments and expense descriptions have activity. If the result of the search shows no values, a field was chosen that has no activity. There is an ‘excel download’ option that will create the report in excel where data can be exported and sorted and summarized.
Here are a few more points about the data shown:
- A negative number represents a reimbursement to the city (credit to expense)
- Interdepartmental billings (billings from department to department) are included in the database and the City of Cincinnati is displayed as the vendor
- Included on this page is a link to a file that includes the city’s chart of accounts and includes descriptions of all funds, departments and expense codes
Our goal is to continuously improve this website and we welcome your feedback, comments and questions. If you have questions about a transaction or want to provide feedback to the website, please contact the department of finance at ExpenseInquiry@cincinnati-oh.gov. When you click the link, your email will automatically launch for you. Thanks.
