ORDINANCE, submitted on 08/04/08 by Councilmember Berding, to submit to the electors of the City of Cincinnati providing for the mayor to act as Chief Executive Officer and certain other City Administrators, eliminating the office of the City Manager, and allowing the City Council to organize itself and select a Vice Mayor.

MOTION, dated 08/04/08 by Councilmember Berding that the City Administration report to Council in 30 days on the feasibility of contracting with the Hamilton County Sheriff to have prisoners provide blight abatement on properties that have been cited for clean-up, work that is now currently provided by private contract. This report should include a cost comparison and whether contracting with the Sheriff could allow for an expansion of the current work onto more derelict properties in our City neighborhoods. Further that, the City Administration take all steps legally available, including more aggressive use of tax liens against property owners to reimburse the City for the costs of the clean-up, to force the clean up of more derelict properties.
