Interning In Mayor Cranley's Office
Interning in the Mayor's Office is a great opportunity to learn about the functions and operations of city government. Interns have the opportunity to work with staff members who are directly involved with the daily functions of the Mayor's Office.
Duties include helping with general office work such as answering phones, opening mail and composing letters. We encourage interns to attend hearings, compose briefings, assist staff with projects, and research various issues. We want the internship experience to provide intellectual challenge beyond typical intern duties and are looking for proactive individuals who will make the most of their experience.
We offer internships in the summer, fall and spring. Typical applicants are current university students or recent graduates. Interns in the fall and spring must be willing to commit to at least 8 hours of work a week. Summer interns should be able to work at least 20 hours a week.
Full- or part-time internships are available. Many interns receive class credit through their respective universities for their internship.
