ONE-ALARM STRUCTURE FIRE – 1926 Kinney

Acting District Fire Chief Mark Sanders reported on a One-Alarm structure fire that occurred in the Walnut Hills community of Cincinnati, Ohio on May 23, 2014. At 2:00 pm, the Cincinnati Emergency Communications Center dispatched a 1 Alarm complement to 1926 Kinney for a report of smoke coming from a two story residential building.

Initial arriving fire crews reported light smoke coming from the second floor of the two story home. The fire occurred in the area where repairs were being made to the building on the second floor exterior. Smoke was present in the eaves of the second floor and attic space. Companies aggressively extinguished the fire and ensured it was isolated to the point of origin.

There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters and the cause of the fire is thought to be associated repairs completed just prior to the start of the fire. Families will be able to reoccupy the residence. Fire loss is estimated at $2,000.
