Peggy Sandman, Interim Budget Director for the City of Cincinnati, began working for the City in 1996 in the Public Services Department as the Recycling Program Coordinator in the Neighborhood Operations Division (NOD). In that capacity she worked with many City departments and neighborhood groups promoting recycling, litter prevention, and the City’s solid waste collection program. 

While at NOD, the division was the recipient of the Keep Cincinnati Beautiful Iron Eyes Cody Award in 1997.

After moving to the Office of Budget and Evaluation, Ms. Sandman primarily worked on the development of the City’s Capital Improvement Plan. She has been the staff member of the Capital Committee and served on the Fleet Review Committee.  She also completed an in-depth review of the City’s facilities' needs for General Fund agencies.

As the Interim Budget Director, Ms. Sandman coordinates the development of the City’s $1.4 million budget, which consists of the Operating Budget, Capital Improvement Plan, and the Consolidated Plan budget for the City.

She is also responsible for managing a staff of 10 people in the Office of Budget and Evaluation.

Ms. Sandman is originally from Cincinnati, and graduated from the University of Cincinnati with Honors with a major in Political Science. She completed her Master of Public Affairs at the University of Massachusetts at Boston.
