Fleet Services FAQs

1. What is the Fleet Auction?

Fleet Services provides a monthly auction to dispose of obsolete equipment for the City and other entities. Items sold at these auctions ranges from pre-owned City Metro Transportation Coaches to general office equipment. The recovered residual revenue is deposited into our customers' equipment replacement funds to offset the purchase of their replacement equipment.

2. What is on the next auction?

Citizens may call 352-3680. We usually read the list for that month.

3. Where is the auction site located?

The City of Cincinnati/Fleet Services (formerly Municipal Garage) is located at Central Parkway & Bates Avenue. The equipment is located in the fenced lot off Bates Avenue, across the street from the Fleet Services Building.

4. What time does the auction start?

The Fleet Auctions are held the 2nd Saturday of the month (except December, January, February).  Viewing begins at 8:30 AM. Bidding starts promptly at 10:00 AM.

5. Are all items paid for after the successful bid?

No payment shall be made at the auction. The successful bidder will be given an invoice to be taken to Fleet Services,  1106 Bates Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45225, along with payment for the total amount due. Payment must be made Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., the week following the auction. Payment not received by 4:00 P.M. Thursday, will result in the sale being voided and the name of the bidder being placed on a list, making that person ineligible to bid on or to be awarded any items at future auctions.

6. How do I report non-city vehicles fueling at fuel sites?

Call 352-3680. We review information and forward to the appropriate agency.

7. How do I report erratic driving practices of city vehicles?

Call 352-3581. We review information and forward to the appropriate agency.
