Woolper Ave. Reconstruction
Woolper Avenue Reconstruction
As part of the City of Cincinnati’s ongoing investment in the neighborhood of Clifton, the Department of Transportation and Engineering will reconstruct Woolper Avenue from Clifton Avenue to Vine Street, with traffic signal upgrades at the Vine Street and Clifton Avenue/McAlpin Avenue intersections.
Along Woolper Avenue, the City's contractor, Adleta Inc., will replace the existing roadway with new concrete pavement, install new curb, walk, driveway aprons, drainage structures and piping.
In the above-mentioned intersections, the contractor will upgrade the traffic signals with new traffic signal poles and modern equipment as well as resurfacing portions of the existing asphalt pavement.
Normally the contractor will work from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Adleta Inc. will provide a superintendent, Dan Smith, on the project during the roadway work to facilitate access requirements for abutting residents and businesses. Mr. Smith can be reached at 513-543-8816 for the duration of the project, or you may contact Tim Adleta via email at TAdleta@AdletaConstruction.com.
During construction, the following traffic restrictions will apply:
Woolper Avenue: Eastbound traffic will be maintained in one downhill lane along Woolper Avenue for the duration of the project. Woolper Avenue will be closed to all westbound traffic (uphill) for the duration of the project. The detour route for westbound traffic is south on Vine Street, west on Nixon Street/Jefferson Avenue/Ludlow Avenue and north on Clifton Avenue. On street parking will be allowed, but under restrictions. Please watch for changing parking locations.
Vine Street, Clifton Avenue & McAlpin Avenue: All lanes will be open and available to traffic from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. During construction activities, at least two lanes will be open and available to traffic (one lane in each direction).
During all non-working hours, all streets, except for Woolper Avenue, shall be open and available for the movement of traffic. Woolper Avenue will continue to be closed to westbound traffic for the duration of the project.
Access for emergency vehicles and local businesses and residents shall be maintained at all times.
The contractor will post "No Parking" signs at least 14 hours before beginning work where on-street parking may be affected. This is a police order, and your vehicle could be in violation of Cincinnati Municipal Code 508-12: Parking Unreasonable Time. If you fail to comply, your vehicle may be towed. If you will not be available to move your vehicle, please arrange with someone to move it for you.
Construction will begin on Tuesday, May 27, 2014. Estimated completion is October 2014.
Drivers are encouraged to reduce their speed and use caution when approaching the closure area.
