West Fork Road To Close For Landslide Correction & Retaining Wall Project
As part of the City of Cincinnati’s ongoing commitment to improve our neighborhoods and infrastructure, the Department of Transportation and Engineering will soon begin a landslide correction and retaining wall project on West Fork Road.
West Fork Road will be closed to through traffic between Montana Avenue and Shepherd Creek Road starting Oct. 27, 2014. Work should be completed by Dec. 12, 2014, weather-permitting.
Local access will be maintained.
Smith Construction, a contractor for the City of Cincinnati will begin working to install a retaining wall at 2049 West Fork Road at the existing landslide.
The wall consists of installing 27 reinforced concrete piers (each is 36-inches in diameter). Then, 27 plain concrete plug piers will be installed between each reinforced pier.
The project will also repair the asphalt section where the slide occurred.
