Walk Ahead For A Brain Tumor Cure

On Sunday, Oct. 27, survivors, caregivers, family members, brain tumor specialists and other caring members of our community will participate in the 4th Annual Walk Ahead for a Brain Tumor Cure 5K Walk/Run, benefitting the Brain Tumor Center at the University of Cincinnati Neuroscience Institute.

The family-friendly event drew more than 2,000 participants from 17 states in 2012 and raised over $203,000 -- bringing our three-year fundraising total to more than $487,000! 

In order to accommodate this event, the following streets will close on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 7:30 a.m., and remain closed until approximately 10 a.m.:

  • Mehring Way - closed between E Pete Rose Way and Joe Nuxhall Way
  • Taylor Southgate Bridge - closed
  • E Pete Rose Way - eastbound closed Broadway and Eggleston Avenue
  • Riverside Drive - eastbound closed between Eggleston Avenue and Bains

Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible and to reduce their speed and use caution when approaching the closure area.
