Madison Road Resurfacing

Madison Road Resurfacing To Begin Tuesday

Other Nearby Roads To Be Resurfaced

The City of Cincinnati will resurface Madison Road and other nearby roads beginning Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013. When complete, Madison will be completely resurfaced, curb-to-curb, from Ridge Avenue to the new Kennedy Avenue. Additional road rehabilitation will take place on Madison between Kennedy and Steel Place.

Surface replacement also will take place on Ridge Road at the intersection with Ibsen Avenue.  Barrow Avenue also will receive resurfacing near the intersection with Ridge. The surface will be replaced on Kennedy Avenue's approach to to Duck Creek Road.

This work will begin Tuesday at 9 a.m. The first phase will be the grinding off the top two inches of of the current surface.  A new asphalt surface is scheduled to be installed on Wednesday and Thursday.

This represents the end of major roadwork on the Madison Road side of the project until the new section of Kennedy Avenue is open later this year.

While grinding and resurfacing is taking place, there will be temporary lane restrictions.  It is not expected that the lane restrictions will be in place during morning or evening rush hour.

About The Kennedy Connector

The Kennedy Connector project will build a new extension of Kennedy Avenue that will connect Duck Creek Road and Madison.  The new road will improve traffic flow and safety.  It also will provide new opportunities for economic development.  The project began this spring and is expected to take nearly two years to complete.
