The Cincinnati Recreation Commission recognizes the importance of fostering youth involvement in leadership roles within the community. Therefore, the Cincinnati Recreation Commission has created a Youth Commission Member position to give voice of the concerns, needs and issues affecting today's youth. Although this positions will not carry voting rights, the Commission recognizes the importance of youth input into the decision-making process.

Applicants for this position must meet the following requirements:
- Be between the ages of 16 and 18 years
- Be involved and familiar with youth activities at a local CRC center.
- Have demonstrated interest/participation in community projects & activities
- Commitment to fulfill obligations and responsibilities of the position for one full year.
- Complete a Youth Commission Member application.
- Secure a recommendation from a CRC staff member.
- Attend an interview.
- Attend Commission meetings monthly.
- Attend a Youth Commissioner Training.
- Tour various city facilities with a CRC staff representative.
