Exhibition during October at Bond Hill Library
(Cincinnati) – The culmination of a four-week residency in narrative quilt making with Ohio Arts Council residency artist Kate Sturman Gorman, will take place at the Bond Hill Branch Library, 1740 Langdon Farm Road at Jordan Crossing in Bond Hill during the month of October with an opening reception on Wednesday, October 3rd from 4:00 – 6:00 pm. We invite you to visit the exhibition so you can see firsthand the results of a project that has directly served 107 people in workshops and classes. Ms. Gorman, a Westerville, Ohio resident, taught classes and workshops in creating collage-style appliquéd quilts. Programs for adult quilters of all skill levels were the focus of the residency and included workshops for teachers and CRC staff. In addition, Ms. Gorman worked on writing and quilting projects with Nativity School students and German exchange students visiting the school. Ms. Gorman’s work has been exhibited regionally and nationally. Project funding was provided in part by the Ohio Arts Council, the Cincinnati Recreation Commission Foundation, the Kennedy Heights Community Council, and local donors. Community partners are the Ohio Valley Quilters’ Guild, the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County, and the Weston Art Gallery at the Aronoff Center for the Arts.
