Council Member Amy Murray

Councilwoman Amy MurrayCouncilwoman Amy Murray is serving her first elected term for the City of Cincinnati. She had previously served on Cincinnati City Council in 2011, filling the seat of current Hamilton County Commissioner Chris Monzel.

Councilwoman Murray is the Chair of the Major Transportation and Regional Cooperation Committee. She also serves as Vice Chair for both the Budget and Finance Committee and the Economic Growth and Infrastructure Committee. She is a member of the Street Car Committee.

Amy was appointed by City Council to the Cincinnati Planning Commission.

Amy's business experience includes 14 years with Procter & Gamble in Global Business Development, with much of her focus on Asia. She speaks fluent Japanese and has put it to good use as an independent consultant enabling companies to develop their Japanese business.

Amy has an extensive history of political involvement and a passion for diving into the issues when it comes to making Cincinnati a better place to live and work. As past President of Hyde Park Neighborhood Council, she worked closely with residents, business and the city to bring about positive change.

Amy is focused on job creation and making Cincinnati a more business-friendly city. She believes that in order to keep Cincinnati moving forward, we must keep our neighborhoods safe, promote a climate for businesses to thrive and prioritize basic services.

She is an advocate for the taxpayer and believes the city should live within its means, just as the citizens and taxpayers of Cincinnati do. Amy is a believer in long-range planning and a robust budgeting process. Fiscal responsibility, economic development and strong public safety are fundamental to her vision for a prosperous and livable Cincinnati.

Amy has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Arizona State University. She resides in Hyde Park with her husband, 2 sons and dog Fluffy.
