Office of Cable Communications

CitiCable is the government access television channel on the Time Warner Cable Cincinnati system. At the same time, our office, Cable Communications, monitors the performance of Time Warner Cable Cincinnati by tracking subscriber complaints. The Cable Office also monitors Time Warner Cable Cincinnati compliance with the terms of their franchise agreement with the City. The Cable Office also monitors the performance of the public access facility, Media Bridges.

Public information - Providing the public access to view Cincinnati City Council and Committees "live" and in several replays.

 Production - CitiCable has a Studio, 2 Control Rooms, Linear & non-linear editing systems, portable cameras and a blue box. This equipment can be used to help City Departments in various productions. Contact frank.clark@cincinnati-oh.gov to see if CitiCable is able to assist your Department/Division is video production. 

• Special events - such as special meetings and programs can be recorded, edited and shown on CitiCable it the Special Meeting or Event time slots.
  
• Videos - these can range from two minutes to one hour. Any City Department can work with CitiCable to produce a video to show on CitiCable as filler. Filler is important of CitiCable because CitiCable is a 24-hour channel. If a meeting runs 45 minutes the next 15 minutes need to be filled to complete the programming hour. Department videos can cover any range of topics and can be made time sensitive or term long running.
  
• P.S.A.s - are basically the same as "Video Filler" but, they tend to be 60 seconds or less. P.S.A.s get the most air play because the can go on any of our 24 programs. For example a P.S.A. put on the monthly show Gems of the Queen City gets shown 40 times.

Announcements on the CitiCable Bulletin Board/City Hall Monitors -
CitiCable maintains and updates its on air bulletin board CitiCable Today which airs once every morning on CitiCable. This bulletin board also runs from 9am - 5pm on two monitors located on the first floor of City Hall. Only Departments or Divisions of the City of Cincinnati or affiliated groups/programs can have their information posted. To have information posted email Darius K. Jones at: darius.jones@cincinnati-oh.gov at least two weeks before the event occurs.

Tape Duplication - CitiCable provides copies of specific meetings/programs/events for a fee:

• Each original tape - up to one hour cost $20.00 for duplication.
• Each original tape - up to two hours cost $25.00 for duplication.
• Each additional hour from original tape - up to one hour cost $5.00 for duplication.
• Blank VHS tapes cost $5.00.   
  (Note: We only accept checks or money orders made out to the Treasurer of the City of Cincinnati. City Departments may I.D. Bill
  Videos cannot be high speed dubbed like an audio tape. A six hour meeting will take six hours to record. Allow 10 working days for duplication.)

When requesting a tape duplication please provide us with the title and date of desired tape.
