The City of Cincinnati has applied for the Climate Showcase Communities Grant from the United States Environmental Protection Agency. The grant will be in an amount up to $500,000 and used for the purpose of supporting advocacy and outreach efforts to implement the Green Cincinnati Plan.
The project will: create and implement a multi-tiered marketing plan to reach, educate, and enable the general public to implement the measures called for by the Green Cincinnati Plan; develop public education programs that focus on educating the broader community—citizens from ages 2 through 92— about the importance of climate change and the multiple benefits from climate protection measures; support an annual Summit to communicate, enable, and align with targeted public sector and private sector policy makers to carry out the recommendations of the Green Cincinnati Plan; and, through the Cincinnati Energy Alliance, demonstrate effective recruitment, auditing, and implementation of energy efficiency measures for nonprofit buildings.
