American Red Cross breaks ground on a new headquarters

The Cincinnati chapter of the American Red Cross broke ground on a new headquarters and disaster operations center at Keystone Parke. Each year, the chapter serves 200,000 people in sixteen counties. This facility will allow them to do so more effectively through state of the art communications systems, indoor truck loading, and a customized layout designed to accommodate training, drills, and disaster response. The new building will be three stories, 50,000 square feet, and LEED-Silver certified. It is scheduled to open in the spring of 2010.

EDD and the Parks Department worked with the chapter on a series of easements, property transfers, and zone changes to accommodate the project. Congratulations to the Red Cross on reaching this important milestone!
