A major recommendation of the GO Cincinnati initiative completed at the beginning of 2008 was to have the City launch a business expansion and retention program for companies located within the City's boundaries. The recommendation identified that the well being and growth of base companies is a vital part of the City's economy.

The staff of the Economic Development Division (EDD) has taken on the recommendation and begun to proactively contact businesses and set up visits at companies' offices. These visits will be used to build relationships, gain insight into business climate, and identify opportunities for EDD to help businesses thrive. EDD has begun the visits by targeting existing entities with over 100 employees.
