OEQ - Brownfield Job Training

The City of Cincinnati's Brownfield Job Training provides Cincinnati residents, who may be impacted by brownfields, with training in abatement of lead and asbestos, as well as the removal of other hazardous waste materials. This program also assures Cincinnati residents job opportunities through placement assistance.

The City received its third USEPA Brownfield Job Training grant in 2007  (Grant Fact Sheet). During the 2-year grant term, an additional 60 residents impacted by brownfields will be provided 292 hours of training over an 8-week period. The training curriculum includes courses on OSHA construction outreach, mold remediation, and brownfields advanced technologies training.  Additional Brownfield Job Training information.

Throughout the two previous grant programs, 136 residents have graduated from the program and 87 of those 136 (84%) have been employed by more than 40 end-employers.
