motion was passed by City Council on October 3, 2007 which adopted the Mayor’s proposal for a comprehensive Climate Protection Planning Process. The proposed plan includes:  

  • Undertaking a public Climate Protection Planning Process for Cincinnati that includes significant input from the community.
  • Establishing goals for significantly reducing regional greenhouse gas emissions while preserving both economic development and transportation options throughout the region.
  • Establishing a taskforce of stakeholders, with a steering committee appointed by the Mayor, to work in conjunction with the administration to implement this planning process.  Mayor Mallory serves on US Mayors Council on Climate Protection.
