The contractor or subcontractor may request an exemption to the living wage requirement for an:
- Employee who is a trainee in a job training program. Job training programs acceptable to the City are those paid for by the employer and which provide training that results in a pre-defined employment outcome upon completion.
- Employee who is under 21 years of age.
- Individual employed by a non-profit corporation for after school or summer employment.
- Individual employed as a trainee for a period not longer than 90 days.
The contractor or subcontractor must submit all requests for a living wage exemption with the response to a request for proposal or invitation to bid. All exemption requests must be forwarded to the Contract Compliance Officer.
Living Wage Exemption Request
