Park Description
Formerly the site of a military barracks, the Seymour Nature Preserve was donated to the Cincinnati Recreation Commission (CRC) by the U.S. Government in the 1970's. Cleanup of the site was spearheaded by the community. The property was turned over to the Cincinnati Park Board (CPB) in 1994 when the CRC Nature Education Division was transferred to the CPB.
The initial development of the trail system occurred in the early 1980s with help from the Boy Scouts, CRC and the community.
The 1.5 mile loop trail was improved in 1992 Most of the preserve stretches across the west bank of the Mill Creek Valley and is covered by hardwood forests.
