What does the assessment provide annually?
  • 24-hour, 365-day emergency services with a 2-hour or less response time to open streets blocked by fallen trees
  • Completion of 350 individual service requests for pruning and removal of dangerous trees with an average 40-day response time in the summer and 9-day response time in the winter
  • Tree planting services to plant about 3,000 street trees annually
  • City-wide preventive maintenance on all large trees (greater than 6" diameter at breast height) every six years by community
  • Stump grinding services
  • Pruning and fertilizing 4,000 small trees three and six years after planting
  • All maintenance and planting work contracted to local professional companies to ensure a high quantity and quality of work
  • Professional source for technical advice on urban tree care
  • Educational programs for schools and community groups
  • Free mulch for community projects
  • Professional degreed staff of five urban foresters, three urban forestry technicians (all Certified Arborists and Ohio Licensed Pesticide Applicators) and one secretary
