In 1997, the Park Board founded a partnership with the Mill Creek Restoration Project to reforest highway property along the environmentally threatened Mill Creek. Since 1997, volunteers have planted 9,500 trees. The trees were supplied by the National Tree Trust and planted by volunteers.
In 2001, the Park Board received private funding from Cinergy, our energy provider, to plant 500 large native trees along the Mill Creek Greenway.
