The Natural Resource Management Section (NRMS) of the Cincinnati Park Board is responsible for the care of natural resources, including publicly maintained trees. The mission of the Park Board is: "To conserve, manage, sustain and enhance parks, natural and cultural resources, and public greenspace for the enjoyment, enlightenment, and enrichment of the Cincinnati community."

The Natural Resource Management Section's purpose is to implement this mission statement through management of public trees, landscaping, and natural areas along streets, in parks and among greenspaces. The NRMS staff and Urban Forestry Advisory Board are committed to protecting, promoting, planting and maintaining public trees and greenspaces, in accordance with community and professional standards.
